Samsung Medical Center to Host Fifth International Symposium on Digital Therapeutics Next Month

[medi K / HEALTH IN NEWS] Samsung Medical Center’s Smart Healthcare Research Institute and Digital Therapeutics Research Center announced they will hold the fifth international symposium online starting at 9 a.m. on the 18th of next month. The event will serve as a forum to share the latest research-and-development trends in digital and electronic medical devices, along with real-world commercialization experiences, featuring participation from leading universities, research institutes, and companies both in South Korea and abroad.

In collaboration with Wonju Severance Christian Hospital, Samsung Medical Center is part of the Ministry of Health and Welfare’s Research-Oriented Hospital R&D Initiative under the “Next-Generation Digital and Electronic Therapeutics Technology Development and Commercialization (K-DEM Station)” project. Speakers and participants include Stanford University, the University of California, San Francisco, the Korea Testing Laboratory, the Korea Brain Research Institute, and industry frontrunners such as Moa Data Co., DeepMedi Inc., and Hipo T&C Co.

The symposium will spotlight cutting-edge medical device technologies and their practical applications in clinical settings, followed by discussions on future trajectories for digital therapeutics and potential collaborative pathways. The event will be streamed online with no registration fee.

Young Min Son, director of the Smart Healthcare Research Institute, and Hong Jin Jeon, director of the Digital Therapeutics Research Center, stated, “Digital therapeutics will evolve into patient-centered innovative treatments, and we expect the ideas exchanged at this symposium to catalyze collaboration among researchers, companies, and medical institutions.”

Woosung Huh, dean of Samsung Medical Center’s Future Medicine Research Institute, added, “As synergy between digital technology and medicine intensifies, the healthcare innovation ecosystem will advance. This symposium will offer opportunities for challenges and partnerships that can be swiftly implemented in clinical practice.”
